Littleton Grist Mill

Littleton, NH - CenterPoint Business Advisors, Inc. is pleased to announce the sale of the historic Littleton Grist Mill operation.  The business assets of the Littleton Grist Mill were purchased by Ken & Karen Brisson of Lee, NH.  Ken & Karen own and operate Honey Berry Farms in Lee, NH.  The farm produces, manufactures and distributes NH made specialty foods such as honey, maple syrup, maple-honey-mustard glaze, and other specialty goods.  Ken and Karen look to expand the Littleton Grist Mill operation by adding production of new products and to expand the retail offerings at this site.   Jim & Kimber Bastone, the prior owner/operators of the mill, relocated to Tennessee last fall to help grow a family business. They have been working with Ken & Karen to facilitate a smooth transfer.  The Brissons are delighted to have Juleen LaBlanc & Carole Titus continue to manage and operate the mill.

The Littleton Grist Mill building is a shining example of the rebirth of Littleton and the accomplishment of local-area visionaries.  In 1798 the Littleton Grist Mill opened along the banks of the Ammonoosuc River and soon become a hub of community activity and commerce.  Local residents John, Jere & Yvonne Eames bought the mill at a bank foreclosure in 1993 along with three other derelict buildings along the Ammonoosuc River.  In 1997 they partnered with Ron & Tammie Murro to restore the mill building and the adjacent building that now houses Miller’s Café & Bakery.  Ron Murro designed the replicated workings of the basic mill and conducted the renovations of the buildings.  By 1999 the mill was completed and re-opened as a combination museum, factory and retail store.  The partners were then instrumental in the project to build the replicated covered footbridge across the Ammonoosuc River.  Their vision, investment and hard work created a river-side focus to Downtown Littleton and serves as the inspiration for the Riverwalk improvement project.  The Littleton Grist Mill building will continue to be owned and preserved by the Eames-Murro venture, Renaissance Mills of Littleton, and the Brissons will operate the mill as long-term tenants.

Ken & Karen look forward to becoming members of the local business community and capturing the synergies between the Littleton Grist Mill and Honey Berry Farms.  In the next few weeks Ken & Karen will be filling the shelves at the Grist Mill with many new products.  Visit the Littleton Grist Mill on Mill Street in Littleton, NH right below Main Street.  Call ahead for hours (603-444-7478) and come and enjoy a free tour of the museum and buy some delicious and organic stone-ground products and soon treats from Honey Berry Farms.  www.littletongristmill.com
